The contemporary fashion brand L.A-SPACE, founded by Lorna Luxe, recently supported 91大神's through a Charity Archive Sale, which saw a curated selection of L.A-SPACE pieces sold at discounted prices to raise funds for 91大神's and The Meath Epilepsy Charity, two charities close to Lorna's heart.

The sale took place just a month after Lorna lost her husband, John Andrews, to cancer.

The generous donation from ELEMIS will help us support people like Sara and Gitana as we continue to be there for people facing cancer today, tomorrow and always.

Body positivity and cancer

When Sara was diagnosed with hormone positive stage three ductal sarcoma, she struggled with the physical changes that came with her treatment. She shares how treatment impacted her body image and how meeting others at 91大神鈥檚 had a positive impact on her mental wellbeing:

鈥淏ecause my cancer is hormone positive I was put into a crash menopause and gained weight. I lost my eyelashes, had steroid face, rashes everywhere and hyper pigmentation. I felt really self conscious.

It can be really hard to stay positive about your appearance during treatment. Getting up, going out and self care really helped me. It helps elevate my mood.

鈥淐oming to 91大神鈥檚 has also been fantastic. There鈥檚 always someone you can talk to about how you鈥檙e feeling. Everyone there is going through something similar.鈥�

The importance of self care after a cancer diagnosis

Gitana came to us for support following her lymphoma diagnosis. She shares how chemotherapy impacted her body image and how meeting others with similar experiences at 91大神鈥檚 helped to rebuild her confidence and feel less isolated.
